Some of my favorite colorful characters that I didn't get to draw in The Ever Never Handbook
Dragon improv. painting in a 3 part process.
Here are some of the illustrations featured in Soman Chainani's School for Good and Evil: The Ever Never Handbook published by Harper Collins. This is my first published work. I consider myself blessed to have worked on such a fun, exciting and challenging project.
Summary: It's a book companion to the world of School for Good and Evil, and handed out to the new students accepted to the school, to prep them, and guide them in their school experience.
This was a much bigger challenge than anticipated. The book includes over a 100 different kinds of illustrations. Soman wanted the artwork to look like it was created by many different Artists.
It includes, fashion designs, architectural rendering, bestiary, portraits, detailed paintings and cartoons.

Here are some pages from the 3rd issue of The Muse of Richard Long: Medusa
Here are some pages from part II, Actaeon of The Muse of Richard Long. A lot of the inspiration for this issue came from the art of
who created Kabuki. I love how he breaks up the space in his pages.
I also started playing with some color... bloody red. In this issue there is more contrast: a lot more blacks and grey washes that give more dimension in my opinion. I got braver with it I think... just like Richard got braver in the story:) Email me if you are interested in purchasing a copy of the 2nd/1st/both issues.
. There's a way to purchase a copy directly through me by contacting me but I have about 10-20 copies left from the batch.
This is the cover of the latest edition of The Muse of Richard Long. I will be posting more pages soon.
The book has been published so if you want to purchase a copy email me.
I've never posted these before. These are some funky sketches from last year. It's interesting for myself to see certain similarities in the way I draw things. Ha. Style ;)
I really should update stuff regularly.
I decided that I should post a few more of my favorite pages from the first issue of "The Muse Of Richard Long."
This is the cover for this debut of The Muse of Richard Long
This series of drawings were done for a children's book written by Gaby Moss in 2003. There were some additional illustrations done in 2007 (the SUNDAY spread) based on editor's feedback. It was never published, even though we tried very hard to pitch it to quite a few editors and publishers. It won a Gigi Books award and the "popularity" award among all kids it was read to. I wish Zoe, the main character would have more adventures in the future.
